Generation of T Lineage Cells from Human Embryonic Stem Cells in a Feeder Free System
In this report, the researchers show that T cell progenitors can be derived from hESC cultured as embryoid bodies and that they give rise to phenotypically and functionally normal cells of the T lineage when transferred into human thymic tissue implanted in immunocompromised mice.
De Novo DNA Methylation Promoted by G9a Prevents Reprogramming of Embryonically Silenced Genes
The pluripotency-determining gene Oct3/4 (also called Pou5f1) undergoes postimplantation silencing in a process mediated by the histone methyltransferase G9a.
Role of NKG2D-ligands and ICAM-1 in NK cell-mediated Lysis of Murine Embryonic Stem Cells and Embryonic Stem Cell-derived Cardiomyocytes
The reseachers in this study characterized embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes in terms of their sensitivity to natural killer cells, whose immune rejection hamper ES cells' clinical application.
Knockdown of the Co-chaperone Hop Promotes Extranuclear Accumulation of Stat3 in Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells
A key event in the mechanism of mouse embryonic stem cell pluripotency is phosphorylation, dimerisation and translocation to the nucleus of the signal transducer and activator of transcription3, Stat3.
